Editorial Policy

Our standards for accuracy, sourcing, corrections, automation and advertising independence.

We aim to publish country-reference pages that are useful, clear, transparent about uncertainty, and easy to verify. Our editorial process distinguishes stable identifiers from time-sensitive facts and avoids presenting a disputed convention as the only possible answer.

Accuracy and corrections

We check structured pages for missing fields, conflicting values, stale currency codes, known naming changes, and broken links before a release. When a credible correction is received, we review the underlying source and update the affected page where appropriate. Significant factual changes should also update the page review date.

Source preference

For disputed or changing information, we prefer responsible official institutions and recognized standards bodies over unsourced summaries. Secondary sources can be useful for context, but a convenient external link is not automatically treated as the source of our facts.

Advertising and editorial independence

Advertising does not determine which countries or guides we include, how entries are ordered, or what corrections we make. Sponsored material, if introduced, will be identified and separated from reference content.

AI and automation

Automation may be used to format structured data, generate repetitive page scaffolding, detect missing fields, and maintain consistent navigation. Automation is not treated as an authority. Editorial claims and exceptional cases should be checked against credible source material before publication.
